O’Connor Brewing Co. Wins FOUR Medals in Commonwealth Craft Beer Cup National Competition

From Press Release:

Norfolk, VA – May 22, 2017

O’Connor Brewing Co. claimed a total of four medals in the 2017 Alltech Commonwealth Craft Beer Cup, a professional craft beer competition held in Kentucky featuring beers from around the globe of all styles judged by a panel of industry veterans.

Medals for the the fourth annual Alltech Commonwealth Cup competition were awarded May 20, 2017 at the Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair in Lexington, Kentucky. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded, as well as an overall winner.

OBC’s Ibrik Imperial Turkish Coffee Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels was awarded a gold medal. R&R Lager was awarded a silver medal. Ibrik Imperial Turkish Coffee Stout Aged in Maple Syrup Barrels was also awarded a silver medal. And La Preciosa Hibiscus Saison was awarded a bronze medal.

“With R&R Lager and La Preciosa Hibiscus Saison being newly-released beers, it’s extremely exciting to have this kind of acknowledgment from Alltech’s panel of judges,” said Kevin O’Connor, owner and president of O’Connor Brewing Co. “And Ibrik has been a juggernaut beer for us since the very first batch, and we couldn’t be prouder that two of its barrel aged variants have received a gold and a silver at the Commonwealth Cup.”

This is the second consecutive year that Ibrik Imperial Turkish Coffee Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels was awarded a gold medal at the Commonwealth Cup. Last year, OBC also took home silver medals for O’Connor Dry Irish Stout and Heavy Footer Double IPA, plus a bronze medal for El Guapo Agave IPA.
