Smartmouth Brewing Company took home the first place best in show award for Safety Dance from the 2017 Virginia Beer Cup.
The winners were announced in a ceremony in Richmond Monday. More than 40 judges tasted 356 beers in 24 categories, according to a news release. The judging took place on May 13 at Fair Winds Brewing Co. in Lorton.
Safety Dance also won first place in the Pale Bitter European Beer category.
