As part of the Tedeschi Truck Band’s Wheels of Soul Summer Tour 2017, Benchtop Brewing Company has teamed up with Craft For Causes to bring you the Wheels of Soul Shindig at the Norfolk brewery.

This Saturday, from noon to 10 p.m., Benchtop will rope off its parking lot and feature The Music of George Smith and barbecue from Redwood Smoke Shack. There will be raffles, including tickets to the Tedeschi Trucks show in Virginia Beach on July 12th.

The event will not only be a great time, but $1 of every beer sold will go to Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, a charity dedicated to promoting and preserving music education in schools across the country.

Benchtop will be tapping its last keg of Trial of Dmitri, their beet kvass, as well as debuting two new beers specially brewed for the event. Hazing Face is a pale ale brewed with primarily Galaxy hops, and Harmonious will be the brewery’s first kolsch-style beer. Harmonious, named by The Music of George Smith, will have a unique Benchtop twist as it is a dry-hopped cream kolsch that includes 25% Indian corn grits.

“We asked ourselves ‘What kind of beer do people drink in the summer while listening to music,’” said Benchtop co-owner Eric Tennant. “A really light and drinkable kolsch was perfect.”
