Williamsburg is about to get its fourth brewery – and first brewpub.
Opening in the Merchants Square District of Williamsburg, Amber Ox Kitchen & Brewery will feature 18 taps, including a revolving 8-10 taps pouring beer brewed in-house. Amber Ox will specialize in seasonal small batches, and will offer no flagship beers. An important part of these small batches will be an extensive kettle and fruited sour program. Head brewer Kyle McDonald, formerly of Harvest Moon Brewery & Cafe in New Brunswick, NJ, will bring his extensive experience to Amber Ox.
If beer is not your thing, Amber Ox will also specialize in 100% domestic beverages, including all wines and spirits.
“We are very excited about our progressive cocktail program,” said co-owner Andrew Voss. “We will incorporate regionally locally sourced ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, bitters, and herbs.”
Amber Ox Kitchen & Brewery will offer new-American food with “odes to Southern cuisine,” according to Voss. Voss and partner Chris Cook bring over two decades of restaurant experience.
Amber Ox Kitchen & Brewery is targeting a mid-October opening.
